Colorectal Weekend 1/2023 took place at Laguna Redang Resort, Redang Island, Terengganu from 11th to 13th May 2023. The three-day event was hosted by the Colorectal Unit, Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. Since its inception in 2003, this is the first time the Colorectal Weekend is conducted in Terengganu. A total of 39 Colorectal Surgeons and Trainees together with 25 family members attended the event. The academic meeting consists of 8 presentations by colorectal trainees followed by exit interview session. Recreational sea activities and hiking were organized for the participants as well.

The Organizing Committee received RM 3,600.00 sponsorship from the Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgeons to run the event. It is used to subsidise 36 participants who attended the entire programme of Colorectal Weekend.
