Best Poster Award


Deadline for Submission of Abstract extended to: 15 FEBRUARY 2021


The Best Poster is for the best original scientific or clinical paper submitted by young surgeons in Malaysia for presentation at Coloproctology 2021. This award will hopefully encourage a high standard of research and scientific presentations among young surgeons.

THE PRIZE

There will be three (3) Best Poster Awards:
1st Prize - RM1,000
2nd Prize - RM750
3rd Prize - RM500

REGULATIONS
  1. The competition is open to all young surgeons and surgical trainees currently working in Malaysian institutions who are below 35 years old as on 1st January 2021.

  2. The work submitted may be from any surgical specialty, and it may take the form of clinical trials, surveys, retrospective studies, laboratory experiments or any other form of unpublished original work.

  3. The bulk of the work which are submitted must be performed by the author himself/herself even though he/she may have done the work in conjunction with other doctors or agencies either locally or overseas. However, the work must be carried out in Malaysia.

  4. The author must submit a signed declaration of his/her age, that his/her paper has not been published or presented elsewhere and the presenter has done most of the work.

  5. The abstracts for poster presentation are to be submitted online on this website.

  6. The closing date for receipt of abstracts is 15th January 2020.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
  • No limit is imposed on the number of abstracts submitted by individuals.

  • Abstracts are to be submitted in English only.

  • Abstracts must be accompanied by payment of registration fees. If the abstract is subsequently not accepted for presentation, and the author wishes to cancel his participation, the registration fee will be refunded to the author.

  • The final selection will be the responsibility of the Scientific Committee.

WHERE APPROPRIATE, THE ABSTRACTS SHOULD CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING
  • A statement of the objectives of the study.

  • A description of the methods used.

  • A summary of the results obtained.

  • A statement of the conclusions reached.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS
  • The abstract should not exceed 300 words.

  • Title must be in CAPITAL letters on the first line. Do not indent.

  • Author(s) name(s) and institution(s). Do not include degrees or professional titiles. A maximum of four (4) authors can be listed.

  • Underline the name of the presenting author.

  • Leave one line between the title / author / institution and the body of the abstract.

  • Texts must be typed single-spaced, with only the left margin justified. Graphs, tables and illustrations cannot be included in the abstract.

  • Abstracts should be submitted using the template provided. The link to the template file to download is in the final section of this page.

  • Abstracts should be saved in Word document format (*.doc) and may not exceed 1mb in filesize. We will be unable to accept the docx format.

  • LOG IN TO THE ONLINE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION PAGE BY USING YOUR CUSTOMER ID.
  • Upon successful submission, you will be assigned an Abstract Number.
    You should save this number for reference and communication purposes.
